I graduated from New Boston and took my time graduating from TAMU-T with a Bachelor's degree in Math. In that time, I was involved in youth and young adult ministries in and around Bowie County and the Texarkana area. At a youth camp in Abilene in 2005, I met Britni, who would become my wife two years later. Britni is a sign language teacher at Texas High School in Texarkana. We have two children, Crew (named after his great grandad who started Huggins Backhoe Service on Hwy 82) and Kylee (named after her other great grandad Kyle Ormsby who for 75 years was a printer for the Comanche Chief newspaper in Comanche, TX.)
I grew up in dirt track racing but got away from it after high school. During my college years, my dad picked up a 1973 Ford Bronco for parts and eventually that Bronco became mine. I spent my free time for many years piddling with that Bronco until one day it became street legal. If you know anything about Ford Bronco's, you know they are never completely finished. I am still working on small details and upgrades today but driving the Bronco is where I connect with nature--a man on his horse in the wilderness! My kids will one day fight over who gets my Bronco when I've left this world.
In the past few years I have achieved the highest class of HAM radio operator licenses. I am an active member and current President of the 4 States Amateur Radio Club.
I currently work for Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) whose purpose is saving taxpayer dollars while ensuring delivery and maintenance of effective defense systems. In the past year, I have personally recommended to program offices a combined savings of over 20 million dollars.
I am a problem solver, constantly brain storming problems and developing some crazy ideas that might just revolutionize an industry....or politics.

I believe that Jesus Christ paid for my sins when he died on a cross 2,000 years ago. At the age of 14, I confessed my sinfulness to the Lord Jesus for the first time in the hallway of Malta Baptist Church and became a Christian. Since then, I've had many, many spiritual highs and lows. But with each mountaintop and with each valley, He becomes more and more real to me.
I believe the Lord God is holy, and if a person has never experienced His Holy presence, they are still missing the biggest part of their spiritual journey.
I believe we are to love one another as Christ loved us and was willing to lay down his life for us. I believe every proclaiming Christian is called to ministry in some way. We are all gifted in something and we are to use that gift to build each other up as we collectively make up the body of Christ to reach out into the world around us to reach the lost.
When I develop new ideas of policy or legislation, or support others in their efforts, I do it with the mindset described above. Many people have a misconception that Christians should not bring church into politics. They claim something about "separation of church and state." This idea is wrong. Thomas Jefferson made it clear in one of the Federalist Papers that the statement means the Federal Govt cannot impose any religion on the people.
I believe that Christians are Christ's body on earth and until His return we are to represent Him in our government. Part of that means holding each other accountable and preventing others from sin, thus, maintaining and creating law that reflects Christ's love for all. I firmly believe a pastor should be unafraid to speak about political activism from the pulpit. If the Body of Christ is not involved in politics, we are sure to fall to evil.

I never really ignored politics, but I wasn't very involved until 2020 when "the thing" started, and citizens' rights and freedoms began to be threatened in many areas and completely taken away in other places. Then the "election" happened. Until 2020, I had spent my free time racing in an online simulation with people from all over the world. We often ended up talking politics, and I began to study and watch Texas Legislators online. I learned how conservative, freedom loving Texans were poorly represented in the Texas House. I finally realized it was time to put that away and get involved in fixing the world. But how? And where? Was I being lead to run for some office??? So i began to look for a place to plug in. Many would think that place might be a Republican Party meeting, but that was not my experience.
Through Facebook I learned that a well known supporter of our freedom would be speaking in Texarkana. So I went to hear what they had to say to us. It was fun to see so many people interested locally.
Two weeks later, another meeting popped up on Facebook. I had become so angry with our representation in Congress and the actions of our new president** that I'd began to firmly believe that either Texas needed to secede from the union or we needed a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) to rein in the federal govt. This next meeting would be a discussion on the idea of a Con-Con. I learned that there were leftist groups that had an agenda for a Con-Con just as much as conservatives did, and that a Con-Con could well lead to dissolution of the United States. I learned about the idea of nullification which means states ignore unconstitutional federal actions. I learned that the United States was not founded as one entity, but rather a nation of states where states held the power and delegated certain things to a federal government through the US Constitution. I learned that we need to focus more on local politics and ignore (nullify) federal actions that our state doesn't agree with. I learned we are better represented at the local levels than higher levels of government.
After attending those Bowie County Patriot (BCP) meetings for a few more weeks, I learned about party organization. I learned what a precinct chair was. I learned that each voting precinct should have a representative to each active party in the county and those representatives are the ones that decide who will fill vacant seats between elections. I learned that the precinct chair is an important position, and it is the lowest level of elected office in the entire country. In 2022, I attended my first Precinct, County and State Republican conventions, and I learned that everyday people can influence Texas.
Along the way, I've learned about and joined the John Birch Society. This is an activist organization working to defend the Constitution of the United States from destruction by forces such as those that believe the US is a Democratic Society. The JBS fights hard against communism in the United States. It also fights hard to bring integrity back to our elections across the nation. There is much to be learned from JBS published materials.
Having been a BCP and a "Bircher" for three years now, I've made connections with like-minded people who want to "keep Texas red", and that effort starts for me with the Bowie County Republican party. I want to make sure your conservative believes are properly voiced at the local level and that you have the opportunity to be heard all the way to the federal level.

Where do I land on the issues? Most of my top issues come from the Texas Republican Legislative Priorities. The following is why I believe they are, in fact, priorities.
Restore faith in our elections: It has been shown that Countywide Voting can violate a person's right to a secret ballot (TX Election Code 122.001). I was able to determine that in the 2024 Bowie County Republican primary, 64 voters are victims to this problem. I identified 10 voters in the Precinct 19 Chair race who voted specifically one way or the other. I appreciate the support from the 8 of those who voted for me, but I appreciate more their right to a secret ballot. I am working now to convince Bowie County Commissioners to revert back to Precinct-only voting so they can correct their own problem, and I will soon begin working to have them move us back to hand-marked ballots.
Hand-marked hand-counted ballots are THE BEST way to give transparency, ESPECIALLY when the counting is done in the precinct polling place with voters observing their votes being counted. However, it would take a lot of people volunteering a few hours at the end of election days to get that kind of transparency. Are you up for it? Contact me for more information on getting involved and working elections.
Abolish property taxes: a person should be able to own their home free and clear so no one can take it from them. There are plenty alternative ways to create the funding currently provided through our property tax system. I believe we are in a war with globalists who seek to destroy the idea of private property. Klaus Schwab, famous from the World Economic Forum (WEF), said "You will own nothing and you will be happy." I disagree. If I cannot own the results of my work, why should I put any real effort into it? We need to be able to own outright the things we work hard to pay for.
Stop appointing Democrats to legislative committee chairs: We vote to put conservatives in the legislature to represent our conservative values. Yet, many "Republican" representatives (now referred to as "trans-republicans) go along with current Speaker of the House Dade Phelan to appoint Democrats to control House Committees and kill conservative legislation, including the Republican Legislative Priorities which were decided on at the 2022 Republican State Convention. I am opposed to any candidate that thinks Democrat chairs can be beneficial. If today's Democrats won the majority in the state legislature, do you think they would appoint Republicans to committee chairs? I don't think so!
Stop Sexualizing Texas Children: Our society has allowed our children to be exposed to sexuality way too early in life. Look at the TV shows and even cartoons we allow our kids to watch. This is an attack on the traditional family. This perverts humanity. Just look at how much sex crime has increased in the last 50 years. Do you feel safe letting your kids ride bicycles to their friends house down the road? Do you let your kids out of site at a store in town? Because sex trafficking is such a huge industry, we can't afford to let our kids be kidnapped so others can take advantage of them. If we begin now to shelter children from sexuality until they reach puberty where it becomes unavoidable, we can begin to bring back some sense of safety to our society.
Parental Rights and Educational Freedom: I believe parents are ultimately in charge of their students' educations. Parents should be encouraged to attend school board meetings and any concerns they have should be seriously considered. The Texas Constitution provides for Texas' public education. However, I believe that system can vary greatly across the state. The parents and the school board should have the absolute final control over the local school system. Administrators and teachers are public service employees and, just like the old saying, "the customer is always right." If a parent does not approve of their local school, they should be free to move their child either to another school or even to homeschool them. School funding, in my opinion should be kept between the front office and the parent. There is no reason for some chain of bureaucracy to handle school funding.
Defending Gun Rights: The only reason colonial Americans were able to declare independence from tyrannical England was because they owned weapons. I believe we are facing tyranny from a group of globalists who seek to control the world and take away our freedoms. Surely you remember the books "1984," and "Brave New World," and even the movie "Soylent Green." We need to be able to protect our freedom. We also need to teach our children the significance of using any weapon in a harmful manner along with teaching them the true value of human life.
